We spend our greatest energy on the worlds greatest needs as an active response to the Gospel.
The Gospel Inspires Action
This is our core belief. The Gospel inspires, almost demands, action.
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. –John 15:12-13
Our Greatest Energy
We want to do more than click “like” on Facebook, buy a t-shirt, write a check, or feel deeply about causes we care about.
So, we do tough things, we sacrifice, we go the extra mile to help – in prayer, giving, serving, running, cycling or hiking. Through this we meet dire needs, restore dignity, and provide Christ’s hope.
“The victims of injustice in our world, need more than our spasm of charity, they need our long obedience in the same direction, they need our legs and lungs of endurance.” –Gary Haugen, IJM
If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday. –Isaiah 58:10
The Greatest Needs
We desire to help the least resourced, least reached people in the world.
The least resourced include trafficked people, slaves, child soldiers, impoverished, refugees and oppressed people. The physical needs are great for many of these people and we give our greatest energies to help.
We also recognize there are great spiritual needs in our world. So we serve in the least reached areas, places where there is less than 2% Christian nationals and where there is no Gospel literature in ethnic languages.
The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ –Matthew 25:40
Plain and simply, the Gospel is the death and resurrection of Jesus (AKA God). Through this action Jesus gave true life, hope and love to humanity, for all eternity.
The Gospel is for all people. It offers hope and dignity to the oppressed, and heart-change and reconciliation for the oppressor.
Statement Of Faith
We believe that God exists and desires to interact with us on a daily basis. Our program centers on discovering God at work in the world and in us. We adhere to the Nicene Creed, the Bible, and teachings of Jesus Christ. We work with multiple denominations, but are not affiliated with any particular denomination.
We believe that Christ offers hope and change for all people. We desire to live out the biblical mandate to “seek justice, encourage the oppressed, and defend the cause of the fatherless” (Isaiah 1:17).
