Bhuma’s Story: She opened the door and was never the same
Estimated reading time: 2 minutes
Bhuma had tried everything.
Since the age of six years old, she’d had excruciating pain in her stomach. She’d see countless doctors and spend thousands of dollars to try and find solutions. Almost five decades later, her issues remained. Secretly, she had resolved that this was simply her lot in life.
That’s when she heard a knock on the door.
It was a young woman, just entering her twenties. Her name was Lila.
Lila had studied at a Venture-supported leadership school. Upon graduating, she’d set out to begin planting churches in remote areas of Nepal, most of which had never heard the name of Jesus. Wherever she’d go, it seemed that miracles would follow. God was using her powerfully to heal the sick and free those who were oppressed.
Bhuma, a woman who had exhausted every possible option, had no idea that the unexpected visitor knocking at her door that day would bring her the relief she had been searching for her whole life.
As Lila laid her hands on her to pray, her pain was lifted. She was healed in her body and by a beautiful collision with the Gospel. She’d give her life to Jesus that day and nothing would ever be the same for her.
Bhuma’s story represents the kind of stories that God is writing through Venture every day in the areas where we serve. These are the kinds of stories we’re honored to share with you at the Annual Global Gala.
